     The AN/PVS-27 MilSight™ S135 Magnum Universal Night Sight™ is an incredibly powerful Clip-On Night Vision Weaponsight with an impressive magnification. Big brother to the AN/PVS-22 Universal Night Sight, it can be mounted in front of any bore-sighted daytime scope with magnification ranging from (3X - 20X) one to twenty power.

     The MUNS™ does not require any bore-sighting and once mounted, the day sight provides the aiming point. The MUNS™ maintains boresight despite normal misalignments due to mount position errors and does not alter the sighting centerline (parallax is unchanged from day scope). The MUNS™ also contains no beam splitter or folded optics to go out of alignment.

     The MUNS™ is revolutionary when used with a high magnification fixed or variable power day scope. The magnification is provided by the day scope, which typically has much smaller optics than those associated with normal Night Vision Weaponsights. This means there is no loss in system gain or typical f/number loss associated with large optics. Variable magnification days copes can actually zoom in (up to 20X) and still retain the same gain with only a slight loss in resolution.

     The advanced design of the AN/PVS-27 MUNS™ eliminates the typical requirement of removing a primary (day) sighting system since the MUNS™ mounts in line with a standard day optical sight. Combining day and night vision sights eliminates the need to re-zero, since the primary sight remains undisturbed. Additional advantages to supplementing a primary sighting system with the MUNS™ include maintaining a user’s consistent eye relief and shooting position as well as retaining user muscle memory. By operating the locking quick-disconnect, single-throw lever mounting system provided, the MUNS™ easily attaches to a MIL-STD-1913 rail interface system. The unit may also be used as a hand-held observation device.
